API Terms Update

AUTHOR: ResellerRatings Release Team

Hi there,

We’re giving our API and Product Review Widget Terms a refresh. Think clearer instructions, fewer guessing games, and a better foundation for putting customer feedback to work.

The updated terms take effect on [effective date]. Here’s what’s changing:

  • Give reviews their credit. Review and rating displays need visible ResellerRatings attribution and a direct link back—including custom integrations.

  • Keep reviews accurate. We’ve clarified product matching, ratings, filtering, and refresh requirements so shoppers see feedback in the right context.

  • Keep data in good hands. Updated rules address credential security, integration providers, incident reporting, and unauthorized harvesting, resale, or AI training.

  • Build responsibly. New widget guidance covers performance, mobile usability, and accessibility. The terms also clarify your responsibility for your implementation’s ADA and other applicable legal compliance, along with related liability and indemnification provisions.

  • Know your API allowance. Usage schedules will specify request rates, concurrency, monthly quotas, and what happens when limits are reached. We’ve also clarified data retention, deletion, and limited exceptions.

Your next step: Review the updated terms and share them with whoever manages your integration. Check your attribution, data handling, accessibility, and usage settings against the updated requirements.

Planning a bigger integration or expecting more traffic? Reply to this email—we’ll help you understand the options before you hit a limit.

Thanks for helping us keep reviews useful, trustworthy, and easy to discover.
